Taking new clients! April 8, 2019

Filed under: Uncategorized — relaxedbride @ 6:39 pm

Hello all! It has been years since I got on here and it has been a great walk down memory lane. My business really took off several years back and I frankly could not keep up with this site. After almost 40 weddings and taking a longer than planned sabbatical, I am ready to take on a few clients for 2019/2020!

I look forward to connecting with you lovelies soon

Pictures above are from when we were setting up. The Ballantyne Hotel’s event staff was impeccable!

Below are a couple pictures right before the ceremony and one during the ceremony which was held on the grounds.

Hilary and Doug’s wedding was such a lovely combination of southern and rustic – there was so much thought put into every detail. Snipes Farm in Chapel Hill, NC was the perfect venue for their vision.

2013 Weddings! January 19, 2013

Happy planning to all of my 2013 Brides! What a beautiful year of weddings 2012 was…we took a month off in December and enjoyed reminiscing about our amazing couples, venues, vendors, and experiences throughout the year. I am so excited about 2013 and what we have on the books so far – venues such as the SC Aquarium in Charleston, The Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte, and The Stockroom in Raleigh to name a few!

Let me know how we can help make your wedding dreams come true this year!!

Jordan & Ben Clawson 5.5.12 May 20, 2012

Jordan and Ben’s wedding was so detailed and perfect – I always drive by the exit for Yadkinville but have never actually been there – beautiful area of our beloved North Carolina. Wineries sprinkled every few miles – rolling hills – nice breeze – perfect wedding location. Jordan’s tribute to North Carolina with one of her themed food tables was such a lovely touch! A few of my “non-professional” pictures are below 🙂 Will share more of Indigo Photography later!

Celebrate! April 10, 2012

My husband and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary yesterday! Such a wonderful time to reflect on our wedding day, the amazing last year together, and our bright future 🙂 It got me thinking about Anniversary traditions and thought I would share some gift ideas that represent the traditional first anniversary!

First Anniversary: Paper

  • A pretty print framed to go in the couples’ home
  • Unique coasters – maybe to remind you of your honeymoon?
  • Monogrammed stationery
  • A notebook
  • A large map – to map out future travel plans
  • A classic coffee table book
  • A personal photo book
  • A personalized calendar
  • A handwritten note

Southern Wedding Tradition :: Burying the Bourbon March 28, 2012

I was born in North Carolina and raised in Virginia so I am upset with myself that I had never heard of this Southern wedding tradition! Research eludes to the fact that this tradition originated in Virginia – some say Tennessee. Regardless of the location, Southern folklore says that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the site where the bride and groom are to be married, then it won’t rain on their wedding day. According to many believers, this must be done exactly one month before the wedding, the bottle must be completely full and it must be buried upside down in order for it to keep the rain away.
